![]() Right after they saved the day, Shaggy started to destroy the Hex Girls' speakers and Scooby knocked over Dusk's drums then they both started to bang the Hex Girls' extra guitars on the roof. First they lose, but get back up when Scooby and Shaggy join in breaking the supposed spell on the town, stopping the music and saving the day. They return to the town for a band battle against Rude Boy, singing the song, " Good Bad Girls". They gave a concert performing the song, " Who Do Voodoo", until they heard Shaggy scream about zombies. Daphne went back to being herself and forgave Fred as he had finally realised he had romantic feeling for her. Daphne performed it at their second concert as Crush. Thorn and Daphne then wrote a song so Daphne could air her frustration at Fred, called " Trap of Love". As a result, Daphne became 'Crush', a new, temporary band member of the Hex Girls. When they found Daphne she was mad at Fred because he cared more about his traps than her. Unfortunately, Fred's traps land on Dusk and Luna and Daphne gets kidnapped. During the concert, Daphne (dressed as Thorn) sang a reprise version of " Earth, Wind, Fire, and Air". After the concert, Mystery Inc went backstage and Fred came up with a plan that involved Daphne pretending to be Thorn, since Thorn was the Phantom's main target. A new villain known as the Phantom was trying to get rid of the Hex Girls and his first attempt almost succeeded in injuring Thorn. in attendance since Velma Dinkley is a huge fan of the band. The girls performed at a concert singing their song, " Hex Girl", with Mystery Inc. Overall, absolutely fantastic and wonderfully wicked.10/10.History Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated Season one The villain is incredibly creepy while also being very cool. ![]() The reveal of which was uniquely staged and one of the show's more unexpected ones. Thorn with the Tranquilizer Gun was hilarious too and the reactions in the reveal likewise, was worried about overlong and repetitive running gags but they didn't come here thankfully. Endearingly goofy but also quite smart like when Shaggy and Scooby are in front of the audience. Furthermore, the writing is especially good in the humour, which is classic Scooby Doo. Loved the gang's increasingly individual personalities here as well. Seeing how they react to the effects of the curse was both entertaining and eerie, was very surprised to see that aggressive a side to Thorn. ![]() Not just because of their appealing personalities, which the episode relishes while showing different sides to them too, but also because of how they're used (there is plenty of screen time while not overshadowing the gang) and how they interact with the gang (in pitch perfect harmony). The Hex Girls are up there with 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who's' best guest stars. Had no issue with the voice acting and loved how the music setting was used. Even better is the very catchy new song from the Hex Girls, not quite "Hex Girl" level but fun and catchy at least. The music is dynamic and groovy, also loved the modern spin on the iconic classic theme tune for 'Scooby Doo Where are You', although it is too short. The animation has a lot of atmosphere, rich colour and even richer attention to detail, especially for the villain and at the end. Pretty much everything works here, with the one ever so minor complaint (which for me was overlookable) being that there could have been more of Dusk. One of the coolest, most entertaining and creepiest and the Hex Girls are far from wasted. On rewatch, "I Put a Hex on You" is still one of my favourite episodes, not just of Season 1 (which took a while to settle but the second half of it was very well done) but of 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' overall. Not just meeting expectations but exceeding them far and beyond. "I Put a Hex on You" did not disappoint on first watch, for me it was actually one of the standout episodes in the best of ways. ![]() ![]() Am also a fan of the Hex Girls ever since their first appearance in one of my favourite Scooby Doo films 'Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost' and considering them one of the franchise's best recurring characters. Loved the premise, love anything centered around music and the Scooby Doo franchise has been enormously successful with a vast majority of its music themed episodes etc. Of all the episodes of 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' prior to watching the show for the first time, "I Put a Hex on You" was one of the episodes this reviewer was most psyched about. ![]()

![]() ![]() We’ll be spawning oysters, shellfish, and perhaps seaweed as well, for our own farm as well as providing it to other shellfish farms. We are pooling resources here, with expertise and innovation from URI, federal investment, and local operations with the shared goal of producing world-class oysters that can be locally farmed and added to menus everywhere. “The Matunuck Shellfish Hatchery and Research Center will be a win for the state that puts us on the cutting edge of oyster research and helps ensure a sustainable, vibrant aquaculture industry. “On behalf of URI researchers, we are very excited about the research opportunities that this unique facility will provide, from developing lines of oysters resistant to disease and environmental stress for New England farmers, to figuring out ways to address production bottlenecks and testing and implementing novel methods to grow shellfish in a sustainable way,” said Marta Gomez-Chiarri, URI professor of Fisheries, Animal, and Veterinary Sciences. Reed also delivered another $1 million earmark for URI in FY22 to support ongoing aquaculture and seafood research. ![]() Aquaculture is good for the environment and our economy and it’s essential to the future of sustainable seafood, and the health of our local waters,” noted Senator Reed, a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, who secured $1.3 million to support the facility and provide the equipment these researchers need. Ultimately, it will help boost sales of Rhode Island aquaculture. It will use the latest in research and technology to help kick-start nature and allow local shellfish farmers to produce consistently high-quality oysters year-round. When it’s completed, this state-of-the-art oyster hatchery will boost bivalve research, increase production capacity, and ensure a reliable supply of oyster spat. “Oyster farming can have a net positive impact on Rhode Island’s economy and environment. The spat may then be studied and assessed for size and strength before being sold to growers and taken to oyster farms throughout Rhode Island and beyond. When the oyster larvae grow big enough, they will be moved to setting tanks where they attach to shells to become spat. The first two floors will have large high-tech spawning and culture tanks where the baby oysters are formed and filter-fed by water and algae that is grown in-house. ![]() When it is completed, the $2.4 million waterfront hatchery will have two main floors and a third-floor mezzanine area. And through new technologies and research, the Matunuck Shellfish Hatchery and Research Center will help ensure a safer consumer product, which will increase the per-unit value of Rhode Island-farmed shellfish crops. In addition to oysters, the hatchery hopes to cultivate alternative aquaculture species, such as bay scallops, sea urchin, or possibly different types of seaweeds. The hatchery will be a resource for the state’s shellfish farmers, serving as a hub for research and technology to help growers improve productivity and increase output. This new 4,118 square-foot facility, a partnership between URI and Matunuck Oyster Farm, will serve as a full-scale nursery/hatchery, growing and supplying oyster seed in Rhode Island and beyond. Senator Jack Reed today joined Perry Raso, a University of Rhode Island (URI) graduate who founded Matunuck Oyster Farm, Matunuck Oyster Bar, and Matunuck Vegetable Farm, and leading researchers from URI and members of the East Coast Shellfish Growers Association to officially break ground on the Matunuck Shellfish Hatchery and Research Center. And University of Rhode Island researchers will soon have a new state-of-the-art research and innovation center to study bivalves, aquaculture, and more, along with a ‘test kitchen’ right across the street.Īfter years of planning and local input from residents, U.S. Rhode Island shellfish farmers will soon have access to a healthier, more predictable supply of oyster spat to produce consistently high-quality oysters year-round. ![]() But as with any trend, progress is made by committed individuals.įM stations in cities like New York and San Francisco have begun to champion the music, and advocates in trade magazines like Record World have begun to write regularly about it.Įventually, the music will stand or fall depending on the passion of its advocates and the response they evoke. Thus when some particularly aggressive, obnoxious punk comes along blasting three-chord rock into a radio executive's eardrums, he may rationalize his own conservative prejudices by appealing to the presumed taste of the country as a whole. Radio stations, for all their obeisances to hipness and to accurate reflections of teen-age tastes, are still run by middle-aged men, whose own preferences may well be for Johnny Mathis. This is the time of "mellow rock," "beautiful rock" and such-like. The 1970s have been a genuine reaction against the more extreme forms of 60s rock. But the radio stations are another matter. The press, at least in the big coastal cities and the national music magazines, is no problem: Many critics have been among the principal champions of this music. The next link in the chain is to get the music out to the public. The next step is for American record companies to arrange distribution deals with smaller American organizations (as Warner Brothers has just done with Sire) or with foreign companies (as CBS may do with the British Stiff label). Most of the even semi-important New York bands have record contracts now, as do many of the London groups.Īnd even bands in towns like Boston are being snapped up now, too - as with the eminently worthy Willie (Loco) Alexander and his Boom-Boom Band. The most obvious index is the proliferating signings of punk groups by record companies. But there are interesting behind-the-scenes pressures building within the music business that may soon lead to a breakthrough. NEW YORK - Punk or "new wave" rock still hasn't made any significant commercial impact on the vast American pop-music market. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The stew may be cooked on top of the stove or in a low oven at 300 degrees F. In the 1988 feature film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Roger Rabbit mentions his uncle Thumper, implying that Roger Rabbit might be Thumper's nephew. Thumper was set to have his own show as a part of The Disney Afternoon block entitled Thumper's Thicket, although the idea for the show never really developed and is one of few ideas for Disney Afternoon shows that never made it off the drawing board. In the end, Thumper tells the story of the climactic dog chase to Faline, and other members of the forest, though he exaggerates it to make him seem like more of the hero. At the climax of the film, Man's dogs hunt down Bambi, and Thumper pitches in to help by telling Flower to make his "brave face" which causes him to let out his stink. Throughout the film, Thumper gives Bambi lessons on how to impress the Great Prince and prove that he can be mighty as well.Īs a side plot in the film, Thumper is constantly being followed by his sisters, though he finds them to be rather annoying. During this time, Bambi finds it to be very difficult to connect with his father, and Thumper offers to help. With his mother gone, Bambi is to live with his father, The Great Prince of the Forest, until a suitable replacement mother is found. The events in Bambi II take place after the death of Bambi's mother but before Bambi's young adulthood. Both newly named fathers make way for Faline's den to witness the birth of Bambi's children, with Bambi now assuming the role as Great Prince of the Forest. Sometime after, Thumper has revealed to have children of his own, as well as Flower. Soon after, Bambi would fall for his childhood friend Faline. Eventually, a female bunny becomes smitten with Thumper, and she begins to flirt, luring him into her lap. Disgusted by the sight, Thumper and Bambi continue on. During one of these lessons, Bambi and Thumper meet and befriend a skunk named Flower. Thumper and Bambi quickly form a friendship, and Thumper takes it into his hands to teach Bambi the ropes, such as how to walk and talk. One beautiful day in the forest, a doe gave birth to Bambi, the young prince of the forest. As a kitten, Thumper's left incisor is missing, whereas as a buck, he has both incisors and a set of whiskers. The insides of his long ears and his nose are pink, his cheeks, feet, belly, and the areas around his eyes are cream. Thumper is a rabbit kitten with gray fur, hazel eyes, a white tail, a white muzzle, white incisors, and white patch of fur on his chest. As a young adult, he hasn't changed much and continues to speak rather loud and thumps his left or right foot. He often gives his close friends advice on a handful of topics but they usually get them into trouble. Unlike Bambi, Thumper can be rather mischievous but ultimately means well. As voiced by then 4-year-old Peter Behn, the vivacious character of Thumper was expanded from its original minor role and led to a focus on the young animals in the story. The character was an important influence on the development of the 1942 film, Bambi, which started production with an adult tone that seemed too serious and non-commercial. He was the first and closest friend of Prince Bambi, whom he sees as great potential for amazing things taking the young fawn "under his wings" and teaching him the ways of the forest, to some extent. Despite being mistaken for a female by viewers, he is actually male. Thumper is a young, comical rabbit and is also a well-known inhabitant of the forest. ![]() ![]() Simply put, this means that accounting entries will be based on fact and not on personal opinion or feelings.
